Play your part – be a great audience member!

As you prepare for the show, talk about what it means to be a great audience member:
When you go to the theatre, the actors on stage are working really, really hard – for you! You can show your appreciation by…

• Paying attention to what’s happening on stage
• Laughing when it’s funny
• Clapping when it’s over, or when something really neat happens
• When you go to the theatre, just because it’s dark doesn’t mean that the actors can’t see or hear you. Did you know…
• They can hear when you talk to each other, so keep quiet!
• They can hear you eating or drinking, which is why there’s no food or drinks allowed in the theatre (and it can make a mess).
• They can see when you open your cell phone, so turn it off.
• They can see and hear you when you get up to go to the bathroom, so don’t forget to pee first!
