Your Support Matters

Geordie Productions is one of Canada’s leading English professional theatre companies dedicated to presenting provocative, enchanting and critically acclaimed Theatre for Young Audiences. For over 35 years, Geordie’s work has travelled thousands of miles, bringing engaging and entertaining works to audiences from across the country. With over 200 productions as part of its touring and mainstage history, and playing to over 2 million young people, their families and communities, Geordie continues its legacy of being a leading contributor to the fostering of new generations of young unique voices, often visiting communities that have no other access to theatre.

We invite you to join our family and be a part of our commitment to offer the power of theatre, imagination and possibility to youth of today and tomorrow. What we do:
• 2Play Tour –largest tour in Canada; we perform 2 plays to over 40 000 school-aged children annually.
• Mainstage – 2 plays per season; performed in Montreal for families and schools.
• Geordie Theatre School – children aged 6 – 17 build a solid foundation in acting by learning from professional Montreal theatre artists.
• Suspended Tickets – purchase single tickets or full shows for other Montrealers – it’s not charity, it’s community.

Building a production is an exciting challenge. From conception to development to workshopping and production, it takes dozens of exceptional artistic minds, production crew, office staff, and volunteers to build a season that reflects the high expectations our audiences have grown to expect from us.
As a not-for-profit organization, Geordie thrives on the invaluable contributions from government funding bodies, corporate supporters, and individual donors to continue offering theatre for all audiences, and all people. We exist because of this generosity. We are grateful to those who believe in the importance of encouraging stories from all cultures and experiences, from all histories and perspectives. It is important that theatre be shared with young people in order to shape a greater, more profound future.

But now, as we move into our 36th season of this commitment, we aim to reach greater goals of presenting excellent work to current and new audiences. With the support we do have, we aim not just to survive, but to sustain and grow.

We need your help.

What your support will do:
• Provide access to excellent theatrical experiences for young people in remote regions;
• Offer professional work opportunities to emerging artists from culturally diverse backgrounds;
• Develop the performers and theatre lovers of tomorrow through the Geordie Theatre School;
• Ensure that all children have access to our plays, regardless of their financial means;
• Encourage dialogue and new perspectives among young people and their families about themselves and their world through the magic of theatre.

Your support helps Geordie keep the magic of live theatre accessible to over 80,000 people a year.
