Clea Minaker’s artistic practice consists of performance, design and direction of works for stage, film and the visual accompaniment of musical performance. In 2007/2008 she toured internationally with Feist performing shadow puppetry, and live video projections, for concert audiences. She has worked in film: HIGGELTY PIGGELTY POP! (ClydeHenry 2009) THE TRAVELING MEDICINE SHOW (Amnon Buchbinder, 2007) and on music videos, Rock the Belz (So-called 2008). Her current theatrical creations include: Beauty (Youtheatre, 2010), The Living Lantern (Festival Casteliers 2009) and Thel (Tas de Sable, 2011).
In 2009 Clea was awarded the Simonovitch Protégé prize by Simonovitch Prize for Theatre Design winner (puppeteer) Ronnie Burkett. She is currently working with director Atom Egoyan on a production to be staged by the Canadian Opera Company in 2013.
Clea Minaker trained at L’École Supérieure Nationale des Arts de la Marionette (6th promotion, 2002- 2005) situated at the International Institute of Puppetry Arts (I.I.M) in Charleville-Mézières, France.
