Geordie starts Suspended Tickets Program; gives tickets to community support organizations
Inspired by “Suspended Coffees”, Geordie Productions is pleased to offer “Suspended Tickets” to patrons who are not able to afford them. Like suspended coffees, Geordie is enabling the concept of buy one, buy another to be “suspended” and then donated.
Suspended tickets will be given to families and individuals who would otherwise not be able to experience a Geordie show. Tickets may be purchased through Geordie’s Box Office, and will be distributed through a network of community organizations. All suspended tickets will be available to organizations that can facilitate such a gift, and all interested parties (on the receiving or giving end) are encouraged to contact Geordie for further details.
Says Artistic Director Dean Patrick Fleming,
“When I read a story about suspended coffees in New York, I thought the concept fit perfectly with our beliefs at Geordie. I hate the idea of a kid or a family not coming to see one of our shows because they lack the means to do so. To be honest I wish Geordie shows could be free for everyone …maybe this is a first step towards that.”
Suspended tickets can be purchased for $15.00 online or over the phone. Both The Iliad and The Odyssey run for 2 weekends in April and May, respectively, at the Centaur Theatre in the Old Port. Recommended for ages 7 and up. Suspended Tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis.
