Are you a school, community centre, or day camp? GTS offers specialty group workshops to fit your needs, space, and budget.
Can your child just not get enough GTS theatre training? Is your child eager to try theatre but can’t commit to a 12-week session? Are they excited to try something new and completely different? If yes, then one of our GTS Specialty Workshops might be just the right thing for them!

JANUARY 2025: Stage Combat with Jon Verrall
Learn the fundamentals of performing fight scenes safely—and with style! In this workshop, you’ll learn how to create the illusion of stage combat while keeping yourself safe and secure. Add precision, choreography, and consent to your performer’s toolkit (and having a blast while doing so!). This workshop will cover basic unarmed fights.
Age Range
This workshop is for students aged 11 – 16 years old.
NOTE: Students must be of this age so that they have the physical capacity and maturity to safely handle the content being taught.

$190 (6hrs of workshops)
Dates and Times
The complete workshop will include 2 x 3hr workshop days.
- Saturday, January 11th – 10am to 1pm
- Saturday, January 18th – 10 am to 1pm
Outcome:
This workshop will end with a half-hour presentation of the skills learned during the workshop.

About the Workshop Teacher
Jon Verrall (he/him) has fifteen years of experience professionally choreographing fights for the Montreal theatre community. He has focused specifically on helping younger performers approach stage violence with safety and consent in mind. In a strange twist of fate, in his entire professional career, Jon has never won a fight on stage.
