Geordie works with exceptional emerging and established professional artists from various disciplines and cultural backgrounds to create programming that is relevant and enchanting; inspiring dialogue between communities, children and parents, as well as teachers and students of all ages.
Our Values

Our Core Programs and Services
Geordie has three pillars: creation and development of shows; production and touring; education and outreach. Geordie tours schools across the province with the 2PlayTour and runs a popular theatre school (GTS) that includes public classes, camps and workshops.

Who we are looking for
Our ideal candidate has the following characteristics:
- Background in human resources, business/entrepreneurship, fundraising, risk management, Indigenous cultures or advocacy & government relations.
- Appreciation for Geordie Theatre’s mission of inclusive storytelling
- Passion for theatre and arts education
- Strong corporate connections
- Extensive professional or personal network
- Enthusiasm for philanthropic endeavors
- Commitment to community outreach
- Ability and desire to contribute to fundraising efforts
Take centre stage in shaping the future of theatre.
Boardie responsibilities
As a board member, you will be asked to:
- Attend 2-hour board meeting approximately every 6 weeks, in the evening
- Participate in at least one committee
- Attend committee meetings as assigned
- Help direct strategic and financial planning for the organization
- Ensure the continued good governance of Geordie Theatre
- Help contribute to one or more revenue generating events each year
- Attend Geordie shows and events

How to apply
Fill out the application form with background information on your professional and volunteer experience by September 22, 2025, 12pm EST.
Nominations will take place in the first week of October. All applicants will be notified when the nominating committee has approved the slate of directors.
Can’t commit to a full board position but you’d like to help somehow?
